Where is the main water valve, the gas shut-off, the fuse box? With photo and instructions so that someone who has never done it can find it.

What to photograph

Start with the three shut-offs the app shows as large tiles at the top: main water valve (shut off water), main gas valve (shut off gas) and the fuse box with its main switch. Heating, sewage, fire protection (such as a fire extinguisher) and other follow. With a burst pipe, a smell of gas or a cable fire, minutes count, and often only one person in the household knows where to shut off.

How to create an entry

Templates: For water, gas and power there are sample texts, for example "lever across the pipe = closed". They are only a guide: check them against your own installation and adjust. The gas template already carries the warning not to switch on lights or use a phone if you smell gas, to ventilate and to leave the house.
Where exactly: Describe the place so a stranger can find it, for example "cellar, behind the door on the left".
Photo: The rear camera opens directly, the image is reduced to 1400 pixels. Show the valve or switch with its surroundings so it can be recognised.
Action: Describe the step with turning direction or lever position so that someone who has never done it can manage.

Limits

Entries sit on all devices in your household but, unlike documents, are not additionally encrypted. So do not enter codes or access data. The app does not replace a professional and does not know your installation: if description and photo no longer match, for example after a renovation or a new heating system, you must update the entry yourself. With gas, when in doubt: get out, call the emergency number, switch nothing on.

Heating and house

Every entry has a House / location from the same list as Supplies, for example Vienna or holiday house, and below it Where exactly for the room. For the type Heating the app asks "What does it burn without power?": wood (fireplace, tiled stove, wood range), gas bottles (gas heater) or nothing, because it needs power like a boiler, pellets or a heat pump. A stove without power at the same location as the firewood or gas bottles gives the heating days in the endurance view. Run gas and wood stoves indoors only with a CO detector.
