◆ Prepper
A map without a network

Offline map for emergencies

When the mobile network fails, in a blackout, a flood or when everyone calls at once, most map apps show nothing but a grey area. The Prepper app saves the map around your places onto the phone beforehand: with street and place names, your meeting points and your position via GPS. Free, no account.

Prepper app: map with meeting points, works without a network

Set up in a minute

  1. Add your places. Put your home, holiday home and meeting points on the map as markers. If you add nothing, your own location is used.
  2. Tap “Save your places offline”. Once, on Wi-Fi. It saves 10 km around each place in full detail plus an overview of the whole area, about 30 MB for a city flat.
  3. Done. Without a network the map still shows streets, names, your markers and your own position. GPS comes from satellites and needs no mobile network.

What the map does without a network

To be honest

The Prepper map is not a full sat nav: new routes need a network, without one it only follows the routes you planned in advance, and it knows nothing about traffic. If you want to navigate to any destination offline, a dedicated navigation app such as OsmAnd or Organic Maps serves you well. The Prepper map is made for the moment when it matters where your family is and where you meet. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap. A paper map of the area in the emergency backpack never hurts either.

Which areas to save?

Where you live, the way to work, the children's school and a fallback destination you would head to if needed, such as relatives in the countryside. Add these places as markers and one tap saves them all at once.

More than a map

The Prepper app connects the offline map with everything else that matters in an emergency: family status with one tap, supplies and how long they last, alerts for your places and radio without a mobile network. Free, no account, no ads, for Android, iPhone and in the browser.
